Shen Changyu Meets with USCBC President Sean Stein in BeijingRecently, Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), met in Beijing with Sean Stein, President of the US-China Business Council (USCBC), and representatives of its member companies. Shen noted that the sound and sustained development of China-U.S. relations serves the common interests of both countries and creates valuable opportunities for U.S. companies operating in China. Not long ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting that provided strategic guidance for keeping the bilateral ties stable. Shen emphasized that the CNIPA has always upheld strict and law-based protection of intellectual property (IP) and ensured equal treatment and protection for both domestic and foreign enterprises, striving to foster a fair and competitive market environment for businesses and innovators from all countries. Going forward, the CNIPA will continue to hold an active and open attitude to communicate with foreign enterprises, respond promptly to their reasonable concerns, and support their long-term, stable development in China. Stein stated that IP plays a vital role in promoting China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation. He highly commended China's remarkable progress in IP rule of law, which has significantly enhanced the sense of safety and boosted the long-term confidence of many U.S. companies operating in China. The USCBC will continue to encourage member companies to remain confident, invest in China, and seize the opportunities brought by high-quality development. CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Zhang Zhicheng also attended the meeting. Heads of relevant CNIPA departments held discussions on related topics with representatives from more than ten companies and institutions including Corning, Nike, and Johnson & Johnson.(Source from CNIPA Website) |
