Liu Junchen attended One Belt and One Road trademark and brand building exchange forum and delivered a speech

      As an important event in the 2016 Silk Road International Expo and the 20th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China, the One Belt and One Road trademark and brand building exchange forum and relevant events were held on May 14 in Xi’an Qujiang International Conference Center. Liu Junchen, vice minister of SAIC attended the forum and delivered a speech with the topic of “strengthening cooperation in trademark and brand building, and promoting shareable development for economy and trade along Silk Road”.

      Liu Junchen indicated that this year’s forum is well suited to current situations. Chairman Xi Jinping required the transformation from Chinese products to Chinese brands, and Premier Li Keqiang in his government report required to foster the craftsman spirits which pursue excellence, and to increase varieties, qualities and to foster brands, to foster the golden brands of Made in China. The thirteenth five-year plan also required to strengthen trademark and brand legal protections and to foster a batch of competitive and famous brands. In the cooperation to trademark and brand building among states and provinces along the One Belt and One Road, Liu Junchen proposed to take three measures. First was to insist in dominant roles the of enterprises, to instruct them in perfecting brands management, improving products qualities and services, increasing add-values and competitiveness, and fostering international competitive and advantageous independent brands. Second was to respect market rules, to make the market and consumers as the final judges for brands values, and to select the superior brands through fair competitions. Third was to play governments’ role in instructions. The administration for industry and commerce and the market supervision department bear very important responsibilities in implementing trademark and brand strategy. As the major team for market supervision, they should constantly improve trademark registration services, to comprehensively promote the facilitation in registration, the standardization in supervision, the internationalization of brands. He asked to strengthen the instructions and services to enterprises’ brand building, to speed up the break down on mechanisms which prevented trademarks and brands’ development, to legitimately supervise in relating to laws and to foster a sound market environment for global brands.

      Liu Junchen said regional economic integration was one important feature for globalization. The “One belt and one road” initiatives broke through traditional way for regional economic cooperation, was one strategic command from the view of world, the internationalization and the future, meant significantly for economic cooperation and cultural communication for provinces along the belt and the road. SAIC would on the basis of legitimate protection, promoting utilization, scientific administration and fostering environment which conducted already, borrow experiences from business system reform, obey general regulations and rules of the reform, comprehensively promote trademark registration and administration mechanism reform and provide more help for the trademark and brand building along Silk Road.
