Liu Junchen led a team to visit Hungary, Czech and Poland
From October 19 to 28, Liu Junchen, vice Minister of SAIC lead a team to Hungry, Czech and Poland and held high-level talks with relevant IP authorities. He also joined China’s Trademark Workshop Tour respectively organized in the three countries. He, on behalf of SAIC, signed an MOU with UPRP (Poland IP authority).
In the MOU, SAIC and UPRP decided to conduct legal level information communication, high level meetings, work visits, capacity buildings and best practice communications. This MOU was the first one signed by SAIC with Poland government departments, and the first MOU on Trademark and GI cooperation with East European countries.
In the high level talks with Hungary, Czech and Poland IP authorities, both sides introduced their Trademark and GI protection systems, major achievements and challenges, and exchanged opinions for future cooperation. They all believed that currently economic relations developed constantly, IP contributed greatly to economy, to conduct international cooperation in IP fields, had a great significance for promoting relevant law’s effective implementation, for protecting owner’s and consumers’ legitimate rights, for serving bilateral economy and for developing China’s relations with east European countries.
Liu Junchen joined China Trademark Workshop Tour respectively organized in Budapest, Prague and Warsaw. He made opening speeches there. Chinese experts made detail introductions on China’s trademark legal system, especially trademark applications, oppositions and reviews, trademark administrative enforcement, GI protections under trademark system. More than 300 delegates from above three countries joined the workshop. This workshop was a communication under the framework of Sino-EU IP Cooperation program.
During his visit, Liu Junchen and his team also held work meetings with Hungary Industrial and Commercial Association, Hungary Trademark Association, Poland Patent Agents Association and other social organizations to discuss the business system reform, the support to SME, trademark and brand strategy and trademark agents cooperation. Liu Junchen also went for Changhong TV factory in Czech to have a deep communication on the topic of trademark strategy building for China’s enterprises in foreign countries and the opportunity and challenges in “Going-out”.
