On September 2, 2014, SAIC and UK IPO jointly organized a trademark forum in Beijing. Wu Qun, Vice-inspector of Trademark Office under SAIC attended the forum and made a speech for the opening of the forum. Mr. Andrew Davidson, Head of Global Cooperation and Development of UK IPO, on behalf of the UK part, also made an opening speech there. Mr. Nathan Abraham, Head of Examination Practice for Trade Marks & Designs of UK IPO delivered speeches on topics of Sound Marks, Malicious Registrations, etc. Staffs from Trademark Office, Trademark Review and Adjudication Board also made speeches on those topics.
The purpose of the forum was to exchange the standard and practice in sound mark application and examination, the relevant mechanism and method to crack down malicious registration, and the system and protection on well-know trademarks.
Staffs from relevant divisions of Trademark Office, Trademark Review and Adjudication Board, from International Cooperation Department also joined the forum.
