Chinese smart tech brand rises to the top in robotic lawn mower marketChinese smart technology brand MOVA has reached the top of global sales rankings in the fast-growing robotic lawn mower market, driven by advances in AI-powered perception and navigation technologies. MOVA, a maker of high-end smart equipment, ranked first worldwide in sales of LiDar-based robotic lawn mowers, according to an independent report by Frost & Sullivan. As of March 2026, the company's cumulative shipments exceeded 300,000 units, marking a year-on-year increase of about 500 percent. Annual shipments are expected to surpass 1 million units. Its flagship ViAX series has also gained traction across major European markets. The products ranked No 1 on Amazon bestseller lists in countries including Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain. In Italy and Germany, sales surged by more than 1,290 percent and 2,360 percent year-on-year, respectively. The products have also performed strongly in offline retail channels such as BAUHAUS. Industry analysts say the rapid growth reflects both improving product capabilities and rising demand for automated outdoor maintenance solutions. Unlike traditional robotic mowers that rely on buried boundary wires or RTK base stations, MOVA's products use AI-based binocular vision and app-enabled mapping. Users can map their lawns within minutes and plan mowing routes without additional hardware, while the system can identify boundaries, terrain changes and obstacles such as people and pets. Data from Grand View Research show the global smart lawn care market could reach between $60 billion and $100 billion by 2030, with annual growth rates of 12 percent to 20 percent. Despite the growth, penetration remains relatively low, at less than 2 percent of the overall lawn care equipment market. As traditional machines are gradually replaced, the rate could rise to around 17 percent, pointing to significant room for expansion. (source: China daily) |
